- Bad Export for You: A rare case where it was within the same country no less. The copy of the game featured on PlayStation Network was the original 'black label' version with all the glitches and music errors included. Made even more baffling since said errors were fixed for the 'Greatest Hits' and 'Collector’s Edition', both also on PS1, leading many fans to wonder why Sony used an inferior copy to begin with?
- Christmas Rushed: It was rushed out to meet its 2000 goal. As a result, the original version of the game is somewhat incomplete and glitchy.
- Fake Nationality:
- Sheila is voiced by English actress Edita Brychta doning an Australian accent.
- Fake Brit: Sgt. James Byrd is voiced by American voice actor Tom Kenny doing a British accent.
- Bentley averts the trope as his voice actor Neil Ross was born in England and moved to America when he was 12.
- Meaningful Release Date: This game was released in Year 2000, the actual Year of the Dragon.
- No Export for You: Unlike the first two games, this game never got a Japanese release.
- Talking to Himself: Neil Ross voices both Moneybags the Bear and Bentley the Yeti. Which makes the scene between them also a case of 'beat the crap out of yourself with a giant club.'
- Throw It In!: Spyro reclaiming his gems from Moneybags by beating him up until he's coughed up every last gem you've given to him over the course of the game was put in solely because he was so reviled by the playstesters of the game.
- Unintentional Period Piece: The skateboarding minigame owes a lot to Tony Hawk's Pro Skater craze that was at its peak around the time of this game's release. Without knowing this background, its inclusion will seem random and baffling.
